Chipboard embellies are very beautiful, but they're expensive too and sometimes you can't find the one you need. A simple and useful solution is the faux chipboard: you'll be able to make the embellies you want and they'll look like chipboard. Besides, it's very easy to make!
Lo único que necesitamos es tener la forma que queramos repetida unas cuantas veces (yo suelo utilizar 5 capas). Utilizo cartulina kraft para que los bordes no se vean blancos, es más cómodo que entintarlos luego.
You just have to cut the shape you want a few times (I use 5 layers). I use kraft cardstock to avoid white edges, it's easier than inking them.
Después pegamos todas las capas. Uso el pegamento grande de ZIG por comodidad (con pasarlo un par de veces ya cubro toda la superficie) pero cualquier pegamento servirá.
Glue all the layers together. I use the ZIG jumbo because it's faster but you can use any glue.
Luego ya solo queda alterarlo como querais. Podeis usar gesso, pintura, tinta...lo que querais. A partir de ahora ya sirve cualquier técnica para alterar chipboard de las que hay en la web. Al haber usado cartulina kraft hay que tener en cuenta que el fondo no es blanco. Cuando quiero asegurarme que el color que use (tinta, dabber, glimmer) se va a mantener tal cual es lo que hago es cortar una capa más en cartulina blanca y pegarla sobre las anteriores. En este caso si habrá que entintar un poco los bordes pero apenas se va a notar que uno de ellos es blanco.
Now you can alter it was you'd do with any chipboard. Since I used kraft cardstock, I don't have a white background. If I want it white I apply a coat of gesso or, what I mostly do, cut another layer in white cardstock and glue to the other ones. I'll have to slightly ink the edges but once I do it the white edge won't be noticed.
