Caja alterada/altered box

Hace poco me compré una cajita de madera en los chinos para guardar mis "tesoritos" (charms, chipboards, embellecedores de resina.. todas esas monerías) y decidí decorarla con un aire un poco shabby. Espero que os guste y gracias por vuestras visitas!

I bought a wooden box in the dollar store to keep my "treasures" (charms, chipboards, resin embellishments...all those cute small things) and I decided to decorate it with a shabby look. I hope you like it, and thanks for looking!

Primero le di una capa de gesso y luego la pinté con pintura acrílica marrón. Después utilicé papeles de MME (Lost & Found) para decorarla.

First I prepared the box with gesso and then painted it with brown acrylic paint. Afterwards I used some MME (Lost & Found) papers to decorate it.

Para la palabra "create", el abanico y el tulipán usé la silhouette cameo y la técnica del falso chipboard. La palabra la entinté con walnut stain y la embosé con la big shot. EL abanico lo entinté con tattered rose y vintage photo y le eché glossy accents. Por último, entinté el tulipán con pine needles y tattered rose y le eché stickles rock candy.

Los arabescos son rubons de Kaisercraft que me regaló Almu (gracias de nuevo guapa!!), y el "adore" es un rubon de Basic Grey. Los engranajes son de Tim Holtz.

For the word "create", the fan and the tulip I used the silhouette cameo and the faux chipboard technique. I inked the word with walnut stain and embossed it with my big shot. I alo inked the fan with tattered rose and vintage photo and applied glossy accents. Lastly, I inked the tulip ith tattered rose and pine needles and used rock candy stickles to add shine.

The swirls are kaisercraft rubons, and the word "adore" is a rubon too, from basuc grey. The gears are from Tim Holtz.

En la tapa usé de nuevo la cameo y la técnica del falso chipboard para hacer los arabescos y el maniquí. Las flores pequeñas son de Prima, Zva y Storytellers. Las perlas son de Zva, usé algunas que sobraron para hacer el collar. La mariposa y los pajaritos son más rubons de Kaisercraft.

On the top I used again my silhouette cameo and the faux chipboard technique to make the swirls and the dressform. The small flowers are from Prima, Zva and Storytellers. The pearls are from Zva, and I used some leftovers to make the necklace. The butterfly and the birds are Kaisercraft rubons.

Las dos flores grandes están  hechas a mano con los troqueles Tattered Flowers de Tim Holtz, y Roses Creations de Donna Salazar

LO afortunada (lucky)

Hace mucho tiempo que quería hacer esta página, que trata de cuando me enteré de que me habían dado la beca durante los próximos cuatro años para hacer mi tesisLa alegría, el alivio y la felicidad cuando me enteré indescriptibles, y  me siento muy afortunada, de ahí el título. Para hacerla he usado la paleta #94 de The Color Room, que me inspiró mucho

I've been wanting to make this page for a long time. It's about when I found out I had been given a grant, for the next 4 years, to work on my thesis.  I cannot describe the happines and relieve I felt, and how lucky I am. I used palette #94 from The Color Room, which was very inspiring.

Los papeles son de Kaiser Craft (Sweet Nothings), Pion Designs y Webster's Pages (Wonderfall). Para troquelar los bordes he usado la cameo en el papel blanco y la troqueladora de Martha Stewart (Doily Lace)en el verde.

Papers are from Kaiser Craft (Sweet Nothings), Pion Designs and Webster's Pages (Wonderfall). I used the cameo to cut the edges on the white paper and a Martha Stewart edge punch (doily lace) on the green one.

Las flores son en su mayoría de prima, excepto las pequeñas que son de ZVA y Storytellers. El arabesco de perlas es de prima también.

Most flowers are from Prima, except for the smaller ones that are from ZVA and Storytellers. The bling is from Prima too.

Corté la jaula con la cameo en cartulina kraft varias veces y pegué todos los recortes para hacer falso chipboard. Después le eché smooch spritz y le di una capa de pintura craquelada (distress crackle paint).

I cut the birdcage 4 times with my cameo in kraft cardstock  and glued the layers together to make faux chipboard. Then I sprayed it with Smooch Spritz and applied a coat of distress crackle paint.

Usé la técnica del falso chipboard con el título , lo entinté con distress Scattered Straw y le eché Glossy Accents.

I used the faux chipboard technique again to make the title, inked it with distress ink Scattered Straw and applied Glossy Accents.

Recorté algunos motivos y utilicé foam dots para darles volumen.

I did some fussy cutting and used foam dots to add dimension.

Regalos para Ruth

Hace ya un tiempo fue el cumpleaños de Ruth, (no os perdais su blog, tiene unos trabajos preciosos) y quería mandarle algún detallito. Después de pensarlo bastante me decidí por un a exploding con tarjeta a juego, con unos papeles preciosos de Basic Grey (colección Marjolaine).

Ruth's birthday (don't miss her blog, she makes amazing projects) was few months ago and I wanted to send her a small gift. AFter thinking a lot about it I decided to make an exploding box with a matching card, using some beautiful Basic Grey papers (Marjolaine collection)

Para la flor utilicé un troquel de Spellbinders (daisy delight). EL cartel "the sweetest memories" es una pegatina de la colección.

I used spellbinders daisy delight die to make the flower. The banner that says "the sweetest memories" is a sticker from the marjolaine collection.

Y ahora la tarjeta! Las hojas están hechas con dos troqueles de Marianne Designs, y la flor con varios stickers de la colección superpuestos

And now the card! I used two Marianne Designs dies for the leaves, and some layered stickers for the flower.

Ayer fue la defensa de tesis de una amiga...un momento muy esperado y que nos hacía mucha ilusión a todos. Aunque la celebración se va a posponer hasta que ella vuelva de viaje, el regalo se dimos en cuanto recibio su cum laude :)
Para hacerlo más personalizado, le añadí una tarjetita en tonos morados que es el color de psicología (el área de su doctorado), y aquí podeis ver la tarjeta. Espero que os guste tanto como a ella!

Yesterday a riend of mine defended her doctoral thesis...a very desired moment that we all were looking forward to. Although the party will be next week when she comes back from a trip, we gave her a gift as soon as she received the cum laude calification :)

To make her gift more personalized, I made a card with purple tones, because it's the color of psychology (the area in wich she made her phd). Here you can see the card, I hope you like it as much as she did!

Los papeles son de Kaiser Craft (Lilac Avenue). Envejecí los bordes con el distressador de Tonic Studios y tinta distress Walnut Stain. Las flores son de Prima. El arabesco está cortado con la cameo, lo mismo que el cartel; y la palabra "enhorabuena" está hecha con un sello de alfabeto de Martha Stewart.

Papers are from Kaiser Craft (Lilac Avenue). I distressed the edges with my tonic studios  paper distresser and distress ink walnut stain. Flowers are primas. The swirl was cut with my silhouette cameo, same as the banner; and the word "enhorabuena" was stamped with a Martha Stewart alphabet stamp.

Hola a todos y feliz año!!! un poco tarde, pero he estado fuera y hasta hoy no he podido tocar el blog. Espero que hayais tenido unas fiestas estupendas!

Os enseño mi última página del 2011, muy muy navideña. Usé el sketch del 15 de diciembre de Once Upon a Sketch, aunque girado. La foto es de hace 6 años ya, me la sacaron cuando llegué a casa a pasar la navidad.

 

This is my last layout of 2011, a christmas layout! I used the 15th December sketch from Once Upon a Sketch, rotated 90º. The photo was taken 6 years ago when I arrived at my parent's home for christmas.

Los papeles son de Echo Park. Para las blondas, la farola, el arabesco, los bordes, las luces, las flores...usé la silhouette cameo.

Papers are from Echo Park. I cut the doilies, the swirl, the scalloped edges, the lights strip, flowers...with my new silhouette cameo.

Tanto el arabesco como la farola están pintados con una capa ligera de dabber dorado, aunque en la foto no se ve mucho.

Both the swirl and the street lamp are painted with a thin coat of gold dabber, but you cannot appreciate it in the photo.

LLas luces están pintadas con promarkers y llevan stickles.

The lights are painted with promarkers and I applied stickles to them.

Las flores llevan stickles "icicle"

I used stickles (icicle) to add interest to the flowers.
